*60th Anniversary Celebrations Begin at Whitefish Mountain Resort*
/Lift Dedications, Founder's Monument Unveiling, and Lifetime =

WHITEFISH, Mont. -- Whitefish Mountain Resort will kick off 60^th =

Anniversary celebrations starting on Friday, Dec. 14 with a ceremonial =

rope dropping, a monument unveiling, as well as the presentation of =

lifetime season pass privileges to six individuals from the resort's =

storied past.

"A lot has changed over the past 60 years, but a lot of things have also =

stayed the same," said Daniel Graves, president of the resort. "While =

more people are discovering this amazing destination, we're dedicated to =

keeping it a place known for a loyal local ski population who are =

excited to show visitors around our vast and varied Big Mountain."

The resort first opened for business on Dec. 14, 1947, making it one of =

the oldest destination ski resorts in the nation. A ceremonial rope =

dropping will usher in the 60^th anniversary season in the skier plaza =

on Friday morning.

At 2 p.m., the Founder's Monument will be unveiled in the lift plaza =

that will be dedicated to all the individuals who have given their time =

and effort over the years to make the resort a success. From 2:30 to 5 =

p.m., the grand opening of Ed and Mully's Smokehouse, a new restaurant =

named after resort pioneers Ed Schenck and Lloyd "Mully" Muldown will =

host live music by John Dunnigan, food specials, birthday cake, and a =

champagne toast when Whitefish Mayor Mike Jenson will bestow lifetime =

pass honors on 6 deserving individuals at 3 p.m.

Additional 60^th anniversary celebrations throughout the winter include =

a 60th Anniversary New Years Party on Dec. 31, an informal 'Old Timers' =

Get-Together on Feb. 1, the Winter Carnival 60th Anniversary Banquet on =

Feb. 2, President's Weekend 60th Anniversary Celebration on Feb. 16^th .
